Kazan's Sketch #25

Birthday Wishes!!!

from the side, that butterfly rocks!

up close, yes, I am Happy Happy with this card ;)

cute cute, I like the border! (Basic Grey)

Hey there peeps, Another sketch challenge all thanks to Kazan over at 2S4Y and Spring DT Savitri (love her!) I am supposed to be studying for finals but here I am not being able to fight the urge to make a card...I know! I just couldn't resist such cool sketches! So, the cards are gorgeous! And I dunno if you can tell but there is this one stamp that I'm obsessed with right now...Anywhos, I used some DP from SU! which I think it;s called Urban Oasis and some from Basic Grey from there Wisteria Collection. For the one based on Kazan's sketch I found a star template that I could print on google.com and cut it out using brown cardstock, took my crimper and crimped away! It adds pretty good texture. Then I used this awfully cute butterfly from Basic Grey and thought it would go nicely with the star! And on Savitri's sketch I used by Coluzzle to cut out the oval shape and crimped it too, and then there's that stamp of mine that I can't get enuf. I will say doh, at first I didn't think the colors would look good but brown and purple go nice! I should pair them more often! Hope you like!

Kristina's Color Challenge #50

up close.

from the side.

that owl looks like he's bout ready to fall asleep!

This card is based on Kristina's Color Challenge at Kwernerdesignblog.com The colors were a beautiful match and easy to work with. The card has sort of a collage type theme to it. Very simple and clean. I got the paisley type stamp from Inkadinkadoo (I made a couple cards using their stamps and mailed it to them, I got 3stamps in return) and the owl and birdie from Kelly Panacci over at Two Peas in a Bucket. Have a good rest of the wkend!

The card is pretty simple, the lion and giraffe stamp are from the Wild About You stamp set, chiboard letters from Archiver's cork punch out and button!

Laura's sketch #24

the cork sheet scalloped punch out! Love it.

from the side, a contrast of colors on the DP.

you can barely see the sentiment "Happy Birthday" but I
did that on purpose, up close it has a subtle look to it.

So, here's my card for this wk's challenge over at 2S4Y it's based on Laura's sketch #24. There were so many things that I figured would work with this card, ultimately I went with the focal point of the card being the cork scalloped punch out. If you haven't used cork sheets to do cut out for your cards, you should try it! It really add that unique element to your projects and it's really easy to use. I used the a 1 1/4 circle punch and the scalloped circle punch from SU! to punch out the image. I did it this way so that you can still see the cute aqua-ish colored ribbon and the damask style cut out in the background. I used a woodgrain DP from AC and brown polka dot DP from I believe is from Making Memories. Pretty cute! Tell me what you think!

If you would like to see a pic of how the cork sheets look like click here It's one of Dawn McVey's post where she shows you how to use them.  So check it out!

Wood You? Challenge

cute, cute! :D

I stumbled into the Moxie Fab World website through Angie (thanks Angie!) and I joined in on the fun with this cool challenge. As the name of the challenge implies, it's all about the woodgrain design that's becoming oh so popular with the ladies out there. I can see why, it's way cool and in so many colors! I bought my woodgrain stamp at Michael's and used the Branching Out stamp set from Taylored Expressions. (I won some blog candy from Sankari, over at the Cinema Challenge---Thanks Sankari!!!). The card is a 3X3 mini card and it's has that green, earthy feel to it. Pretty simple. If anyone is up for a challenge, like I have been for the past month or so, give it a try! There are so many out there and the possibilities are endless! Well, that's it for now!

Birthday Card....

up close.

pom poms

yup, tons of brown on this card!

Here's a birthday card I made today. To my surprise, I had some free time this afternoon, so I decided to be creative. So, the card is very simple, I used one of my new stamp set from SU! from their Mini Catalogue called 'Sense of Time'. I feel this card can be seen as very masculine, but then there's the brown pom-poms and the flower chipboard button. I dunno, I feel maybe it can be used for male and female. The DP rocks and I got that from Archivers at their $1.99 hotspot, check it out. And I'm really loving these pics, the lighting was perfect, me likey! I guess that's it, happy Sunday! oh, and as you can see, all the snow is gone!

Good old Colorado weather!

Hellems building to yer left, and Chem to yer right (CU-Boulder)...
it wasn't that bad in the early am.

The Chem building...this is where I currently reside, or at least it feels like it!
And what is up with the fountains still running?!

And, then...later in the pm, it started to get crazy, but
the trees were beautiful doh!

poor hubby trying to get the car ready!

Yeah, tons of snow. but don't worry, I made it to the car
through all that snow...didn't know if I'd make it, haha!

So, Spring is officially here, but it don't quite look like it judging by the crazy weather outside! In just a couple of hours it turned into heavy snowing and it was wet packed heavy snow! I didn't feel like making cards today, so I just took these pics on our way out to get dinner. It was not fun driving out, ughh! I bet Steph had a similar experience!

2S4Y Challenge-Kazan's Sketch #24

up close.

from the side, there's very good natural lighting this afternoon.

front view...

hey there peeps! Another submission here for 2S4Y based on Kazan's Sketch #24. It's very simple. I layered a number of DP that I got from Archiver's. Some of the DP have some texture, but very subtle. To accessorize the card I added a cute button and some star printed ribbon from American Crafts, and I used a silver gel pen to make the dashed (is that how u say it?) edge on the card. Let me know what you think!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #25

from the side!

;o)

Hey there peeps, this is yet another Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #25. I am very proud of this card, one of the beautiful ones I've created. This challenge is based on the movie My Fair Lady featuring Audrey Hepburn. I must say, I've never seen the movie, 1964 was a long time ago ;o) So, I made my card based on the logo of this challenge, there was a lot of pink, white, black and Brooke reminded us not to forget the 'bling'! So I kept that in mind. And the main focal point of the card are the feathers! I had to include feathers in this card because it seems like there's a ton on what Audrey wears, like the hats and the puffy sash (is that how you say it?), so I thought it was important to include them. The heart has black polka dots and the DP is from Theresa Collins, love it! and of course some ribbon and more bling, pink rhinestones! I think that's it. Very elegant I might add! I had fun!!!!

Laura's sketch #23

cute and girly.

Hey there peeps, just squeezing in my card for this week challenge over at 2S4Y, based on Laura's Sketch #23. If this card seems familiar it's because the colors and the elements of the card were featured in a mini catalogue from SU! a while ago. I remember making a similar card like this one for Mom's Day. So, about the card, it's very clean and simple. I used embossing powder for the flower, and I heat embossed it, so as to give it a glossy look, I like that. The chipboard button on it is from that awesome set I got at Michael's for a very good price of $0.50!
