Laura's sketch #29

cool and funky!

Hello there ladies, a good morning to ya and a new weekly sketch challenge brought to you by 2S4Y! This week's sketch is Laura's sketch #29. This week is sponsored by Scor-it. So, on to my card, the main theme here are the embossed lines using a Scor-It! Wow, what a difference this tool makes when you simply want to make a nice fold for your cards, wonderful! As you can see, I also used it to add more texture to the card with the line pattern on the PP! Very nice huh? Now this card is very funky and very unlike me in a lot of ways but I really like it! So, I used PP by Cosmo Cricket, pretty much that's all over the card. I also made this really cute flower by using Dawn McVey's tutorial. Click here to see. The lace I got at JoAnn's fabric store. So, visit us at 2S4Y if you want to participate! Lots of fun prizes for the winner! Another reason to visit, the UCS is still on it's way, you can visit us to see this wk's beautiful cards being showcased!

Simple Card!

cute! :D

Hey there ladies! Another card I made while I was supposed to be studying :D I went to Michael's and saw some lovely ribbon and said 'hey, I can use that!' hehe. So I did! I had gotten a SU! stamp set a week ago from Savitri called Friends 24/7! Love it! I was tinkering with the set but not really made a card with it, hence this one! I rarely like coloring in images but I felt like I should with this cute flower branch, I think it came out just right! Love the simplicity of it! So, that's it, oh and of course some cute rhinestones and buttons (that's what I've been adding to my cards lately-rhinestones, ribbons and buttons :)

Have a Happy Wkend!

CPS Card #121

up close...

some cute ribbon huh?

hey there ladies, Clouds here with another cute card! I've always visited Card Positioning Systems and wanted to make a card based on one of their awesome card sketches but never really had time until now! I had some free time last night to make one and this is what I came up with! It's very girly with vibrant colors! Mainly I used PP by Basic Grey  with some cute black polka dot ribbon, a cute orange button and used my coluzzle to cut out a purple card stock circle! I am very happy with the way it turned out! So, that's it for now!

Kazan's Sketch #28

cute cute!

Hello there ladies, this morning brings us to the start of the 2S4Y weekly challenge! This wk's card is based on Kazan's Sketch #28. What a fun sketch to start the week off! Our main sponsor this week is Starving Artist Stamps! And what fun and cute stamps they have! Check them out! The co-sponsors are Theresa Collins and Scor-it. So, 3 features to the card 1. is the lovely flower stamp from Starving Artists, 2. Theresa Collins DP, so lovely, and 3. the Scor-It tech. on the sides of the card...fun filled! The card is so pink and girly! I also used some of my pom poms ribbon that I am super in love with and some SU! aqua ribbon for more added texture! And I also tried to give the cute flower a little sparkle but it didn't quite turn out that way, boo! :D OK, so there you have it! Come join us over at 2S4Y and play along, they have some really cool prices for the winner! And before I forget, another reason to visit us, the UCS Top 10 finalists are showcasing their amazing cards this wk, can't wait to see what they come up with, these ladies are very talented and creative! Alright, hope you have a great wk ahead!

Happy Birthday Card for Nan!

Cute cute, I love it :D

So, hubby's Grandma (Nan) is having her birthday here pretty soon, so I figured I'd better make her card before I get swamped with school work this wk! I wanted to make it very girl and with lots of fun cute colors, I think I did it! I used some awesome PP from Basic Grey and some cute ribbon from AC and one of the cute yellow crochet buttons I made! I also wanted to point out the stitching on the border of the card (if you can see it)! I bought a little sewing machine so I could sew borders on my card, it came out great! It took me forever to get a decent straight line and also to get better at actually using it, hehe. I love it! (got it at Michael's for half off with a coupon, called Easy Stitcher on the sewing section) I also used Just Right Stamps for the sentiment, it hangs from the ribbon, not sure if you can see but it does! I colored the cute little flower vase in, so adorable! I think she'll like huh? Anywhos, hope your Sun was restful! And I'll 'see' you gals tomm here for some 2S4Y weekly sketch challenge!

Quick post for a cute gift card!

up close :D

Hey there peeps!  Just stopping in quick to post my cute little creation, all thanks to Kristina
Werner over at Kwernerdesign.com She made this really cute gift card that I absolutely fell in love so I decided to make one myself! She has a tutorial video showing you how to make them and also step by step tutorial file that you can download and cut out the pattern yourself. Remember before I told you I made some cute flowers? I used one of them again for this gift card as well! The gift card is very simple, I used patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket PP (on sale at Archiver's) to cut out the shape and decorated it with some cute polka dot AC ribbon and that cute flower! Simple simple! Doesn't take very long to make either, so a big plus!  I took a couple pics from certain angles for you to see! I'm also trying to figure out different place to take pics, this one is on my desk (the new place). Anywhos, I'm off again to school (came home since I had some free time in between classes to come take pics before the sun sets :)

Laura's sketch #28

there's those cork butterflies...

Good morning once again, it's already another Mon! Which brings us to yet another one of 2S4Y awesome sketch challenge, this one is Laura's Sketch #28! This card features Clearnsnap stamp wheels, which are very fast and easy to use for a background on your card! I use the Dogwood  jumbo wheel stamp and Floral Breeze for the standard stamp wheel. I have to say, this card really brought me back to basics, that is STAMPING! All the images are stamped, no PP! I used SU! ribbon and punched out cork butterflies to decorate the card, and the sentiment is by KC & Co, oh and I used my crimper as well on the background!

So, visit us at 2S4Y and join in the fun with the weekly sketch challenge. Also, if you don't already know, there's the first ever Ultimate Card Showdown going on as well, in light of 2S4Y 1yr Anniversary! The Showdown is down to the Top 20 and these ladies are really showing us what they've got! So, if you want to see their cards hop on over to 2S4Y as well for that!

Have a great wk!

Father's Day Card!

from the side...

up close :D

hey there ladies, I know I'm a little behind on posting these past few days! I have been busy studying for a lab practical that is beyond the amount of material I would normally be able to memorize! But, I managed to steal some time to create this Father's Day Card. I received some goodies from Just Right Stampers as part of 2S4Y DT members. I couldn't help but play with them especially with this awesome father's day stamp that came with the Favorite Occasions Borders and Centers set. The card is really simple, I used a lot of masculine colors and kept fairly toned down, free of ribbon and 'girly' accessories, you know- it is for a guy, hehe. I also had to reorganize my craft desk, it was taking over the whole room, well my crafting stuff was because it had already taken over the desk! I have a fairly small computer desk that I turned into my crafting desk, and sad to say, it won't do much longer because I've accumulated a ton of stuff, there's hardly any space left, boo! But it looks so much better now that I organized it, I bought this cute turn caddy-type-storage piece that made things a log better. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about! :D So, with that said, have a wonderful Sunday evening and have a great wk!

2S4Y Kazan's Sketch #28

from the side!

up close with that awesome flower I made!

Good morning ladies! Today brings us Kazan's Sketch #28 for this wk's 2S4Y sketch challenge. Also, a new sketch for the UCS Top 30 finalists! They have a different card sketch to go by and can't wait for their awesome creations! Visit 2S4Y to join the weekly sketch or to see the Top 30 finalists unveil their cards!

Ok, on to the card! I used Theresa Collins PP for the background
and for the focal point of the card I used a oval scalloped punch (Marvy Uchida) for the cork skeet punch out! I love using it! I also bought (for a great bargain price) a wedding stamp set at Archiver's, can't remember the name of the set but if you look at their 50-70% off stamp sets you'll find it! The sentiment is supposed to read "Finally, just the two of us." You can't see it clearly on the pics but it's real cute!
And I'm so proud of myself for making my very own crochet flower! Yes, I can do some crochet here and there :D I learned it in high school (a while back) and once in a while I'll try and crochet some flowers just to make sure I still possess the art! I found this really cool pattern over at Papertrey Ink (Nichole's blog- click here to see the pattern), she has amazing instructions and pics, and very easy to follow, I'm guessing you'd have to know a tad bit about crocheting but it's real simple! And I added this cute pink button and of course, some Martha Stewart ribbon! Hope you like and hope you have a wonderful wk!

Friday Card!

:D

cute!

Whoa! This has been one busy week for sure. I've asked myself several times this wk "What did I get myself into?" or "Why did I ever think this would be a good idea?" I'm referring to the classes I decided to take during the summer. I'm a senior this yr in college, I'm trying to get done just in time for graduation next yr so, I'm crossing me fingers that it'll go as planned. Which is why I'm taking classes this summer. It's taking all of my time, which is fine but, I don't get to be craft as much as I would like to :( I had some free time today to make this card. I love gift card size cards (does that make sense?) I find that they are easy to make, and not much to it. This card is made with some floral type PP, cute sentiment and the most awesome butterfly punch out ever. I love this punch! An of course ribbon, always, some ribbon. This one is from Martha Stewart that I found over at Michael's, in fact, all the material can be found at Michael's. Have a happy wkend!
