An Unexpected Visit Back Home....

Hello ladies,

Just wanted to let you know that I had to take an unexpected trip back home. My grandma passed away yesterday early in the AM. I will miss her. My childhood wasn't typical but nonetheless a loving one, partly because my grandma raised me for a portion of my life and so very influential to me. My grandma was very much loved by all her family, so it's safe to say she left in peace. I guess the only thing I regret is that I was so far away to miss her passing, but oh well, that is life huh? But I did get to talk to her on the phone and she knew I was on my way to see her, so I am sure she understood. I will be back next wk with a card.

(I usually post a card today but since I am way that is not possible, but I did make one for Tina's  Travel Inspiration Challenge, which you can see on her blog. I will try to post it on my blog as soon as I can get a a chance to which I am sure you will understand :D )

Take it easy,
Clouds :D

2S4Y Laura's Sketch #31

card based on Laura's Sketch #31

card based on Anja's bonus sketch.

Good morning ladies, this week brings us Laura's Sketch #31 and my final sketch card as a DT member over at 2S4Y! I know, I am very sad to be departing the team but I know it would not be fair to the team and the wonderful participants if I knew
I could not commit to the time. This fall will be my senior year in college and so time will be
tight, every ounce of my efforts have to go to studying and just getting done with school. Laura and Kazan have been such wonderful mentors that I cannot stop thanking them for giving me this wonderful
opportunity! And a first time at that.
Thanks so much!!! And to my wonderful DT members as well, you have been so wonderful and loving and supportive! what more could I need! But this is no goodbye because I will always stay true to 2S4Y, hehe I gotta represent! :D

Alrighty, now to the cards, this wk is also Anja's turn to submit a bonus sk
etch and so I made my 'freedom of expression' card based on her sketch! Both cards are so diff in design and color, for some
reason I had an easier time working with Anja's sketch! This wk our sponsor
s are Just Right Stampers. I know I am not getting into the details of the cards but if you have any questions let me know :D So, come join us at 2S4Y this wk for some amazing sketches and an amazing price!

Have a good wk!

Travel Inspiration #3

from the side.

love this look. :o)

Hey ladies, almost the end of the week here! Time does fly when yer busy. So, a quick post today. I made this card for Tina's (Travelingmama) travel challenge #3. Very cool colors, based of the pic on the right. The pic was submitted by Amy from here trip to Western Quebec. The card is not at all kiddy-like nor nautical, for some reason I felt like making this type of card, a simple yet elegant. If you've seen some of my earlier/previous work, sometimes I tend to not put sentiments on cards. Just because I don't even imagine them having something to say, I guess that comes later to me. The card's damask is from a SU! stamp set- Friends 24/7, the yellow crochet flower that I made myself, some embroidery ribbon, a nice soft blue color that I just wrapped on the card, very easy to make but yet a dramatic effect, and lastly some brads and the faux-stitching. Hope you like!

Hey there ladies, hope your wkend is fab! I finally got to steal some time today to make a card based off of Kristina's color challenge #56, and what amazing color combo it is! I love it. Ok, the card is special for a reason! you see those cute roses on the card? I made those late last night at a very ungodly hr! Yep, those roses are a product of my own sweat and hard work, haha. You like? I had made the first one which is white, and figured, eh, maybe the cute pink one will look better on the card, then, I ended up putting them both in it. I love them :D the ribbon is by basic grey, pom poms I found at Michael's and the PP is a combo from Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket. The stamp is from SU! set called Great Friends. I am really loving this card. Dunno who it will go to but I'll keep it for a while :D

Recyclin' My Wheels! Tag

This bookmark/tag is for the "It's All Green to Me" Moxie Fab World Challenge. Isn't it adorable? hehe. So the challenge is to make a project that has some "Eco-Friendly saying" So mine was Recyclin' My Wheels. To make the background for the card I used SU! cardstock, some Sassafrass Lass paper (it had clouds and rainbows for the sky), added a Maya Road tree chipboard! Added some ribbon cuz you know me! Gotta have my ribbon! And of course that cute bike from Starving Artist Stamps that I got not too long ago. I was dying to break it out :D So, tell me what you think!

(I posted this pics through Flickr so go ahead and click on the image to get a better look at it!)

Dawn McVey's Color Challenge #11

I am very happy with this one :D

Ooh! two posts in 1 day, how awesome for me :D So, Many of the ladies whose blog I visit participated on Dawn's color challenge #11, at first I didn't like the colors but as I saw more and more beautiful creations I got the itch to make one! I am so glad I didn't miss out on this one, hehe. So, here is my card, fairly simple and I wanted to keep it that way because the colors are very bold! I used a green flower die cut from SU! and button as well. for the gray card stock I used my awesome wood stamp from Hero Arts, bright pink damask PP (both found at Michael's) and some black PP from AC that I punched out for the middle of the card, tadah! So, the thank you sentiment is from Kelly Panicci their owl stamp set (not sure what the specifics are). This card goes out to two wonderful friends Mark and Alejandra who invited us to spend the 4th of July with them, I love them :D So, maybe I'll see if I can squeeze in another card tonite if I can, tomm I start classes again!

Kazan's Sketch #30

card based on Kazan's sketch #29.

card based on Latisha's sketch.

Hey there ladies, this morning brings us Kazan's Sketch #30 over at 2S4Y
This wk one of our DT members is showcasing her sketch as well- Latisha Yoast! So, I made two cards, one based on Kazan's sketch and one based on Latisha's. Our sponsor for this week is Mackenzie Mae Card Kits and let me tell you, what awesome kits they have! I worked with the April 2009 kit and there were tons of stuff to work with, so much I thought I went through most of the stuff in the kit but there's tons left still! The kits include embellishments such as buttons, ribbon, brads, rub ons, tags, oh my! the list goes on! You should totally check them out (click on their name listed above :) So, Most of the PP that I used is from Basic Grey, I think the collection is called Marrakesh. So, with that said, head
on over to 2S4Y and join the weekly sketch and if you're up to it
Latisha's sketch is a cool one too! Have a happy week!

Day #125 - It's a Snap Challenge

up close and personal with this cute little toaster :D

so you can see the how the belt would insert.

I really like this one!

**I am adding this card for Stacey's Blog Candy drawing and for her bday! Happy Birthday!!! By far, this is one of my fav Bday cards! :o)

hi Ladies, a good morning to ya! So this beautiful Sun morning I'm showcasing a card I made for the 365 Days challenge #125. (not quite sure if I'm too late to participate but I submitted my card anyways;). The challenge is to create a card the has some sort of 'closure,' say maybe some ribbon, magnet, twine brad etc! A while back at the very humble beginnings of my blog :D I had made a card just like this one but much more plain :D But the idea with this card is that it has a flap and it inserts sorta like a belt onto the card! I used my amazing CC patterned paper - the Early Bird collection! I've seen some ladies using it lately and was anxiously waiting to see it at Archivers and I finally did! hehe. The main theme for the card is the cute little toaster with the slice of bread popping out of it, simply adorable! I can see why this collection is so popular! I also used some eyelets for accents, some chip stickers that initials Happy Birthday (by Basic Grey), some ribbon and buttons, cuz you know me, I have to use em' on my card! Well, that's it for today, I hope you like and have a good rest of the wkend! See you tomm!

P.S: doesn't the little toaster remind you of that Disney movie the Brave Little Toaster? That's what came to mind!
