out with the old, in with the NEW! 2014

hello peeps!

The new year is just around the corner and I've quickly made a card to bring it in with creativity! I had some awesome paper around with a whole bunch of sequins from past SC kits that I combined to make this cute tag as the focal point of the card, i luv it!

So, what are you doing for New Year's? Me and the hubby are taking it easy and chillin' at home with the pup. with Denver being cold and all, it's good to stay home and relax!

Happy New Years!

dec daily '13 - day 3 - Luna bear

dec daily '13 - day 3 by CloudsShadler
dec daily '13 - day 3, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Our little pup Luna is our blessing, the hubby and I wanted a pup when we got married, I just refused because the apt we moved into didn't have a yard, and we didn't think it would be fair for the pup. 5 years later, we moved into a bungalow in the city that had a yard, and we got Luna not too long after we moved in. She's a funny pup with tons of energy, and is always so curious, sniffing away at anything. Luna bear - you are wonderful!

dec daily '13 - day #2 - oh little xmas tree

hello peeps,

Day #2 Dec Daily '13 page! Our little xmas tree is the feature of this page, it seriously took 20 minutes to set up, voila! Even the little ornaments are scaled to size. What size of xmas tree do you have? Do you put one up? I'll tell you, I didn't grow up with my family putting up xmas decorations, things we simple around our house during the holidays - that thought stuck with me even after I got married, save the xmas tree though. That's why it small, easy to handle and put away after the holiday season.

Take it easy,
C :)

dec daily day #1, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Hi there peeps -

I'm a little behind on my dec daily photos here on the blog, but I'm happy to report that this year I'm on time with all my daily pages, which makes me really happy, especially since this month is super busy!

Ok, day #1 - simple - I wanted to highlight one of the 3X4 cards - December - from the DD'13 kit by Studio Calico. I also used some printables from SC "25 Days" class (the music notes and star printable card) - some paper from the kit and a cute little snow flake I had on stash!

That's it for now!

December Daily 2013 - Album

hello peeps -

A quick post to share my december daily 2013 album. This year I wanted to go with simple - I simply tied a bow (reg gingham ribbon) and added a december tab - voila. I am sharing my dec daily pages throughout the week as I complete them.I am really sticking to the Project Life concept this year, that way I can actually complete my album! I'm really excited join in on the DD tradition and share them with you!

I also bought the Dec Daily '13 Studio Calico kit - for the most part, I'll use the kit as much as I can, adding a couple other accessoried I have on stash. If you are new to Dec Daily, click HERE for Ali Edwards descritpion of the now very popular scrap tradition. Click HERE for SC Dec Daily kit.

I have also created a Dec Daily '13 album on Flicker to make it easy for everyone to see!

Magical Presents - Letterpress card

Another xmas card today, and this card is all about the Letterpress technique! I bought this Letterpress bundle a couple month back since I was impressed at the plates Studio Calico has come out with, and it was worth it! The plate I'm using on this card is Magical Presents from SC (unfortunately sold out) :( I used red paint for the image and layered the card with aqua card stock, easy. I hope you like the card! I am also using this card for my annual holiday card making party with the ladies at work, since it's easy to make. LEt me know what you think!

Lawn Fawn - merry christmas card

Hello there peeps -

A xmas card today, using Law Fawn (Let is snow) stamp set, such a cute card, I'm excited that I made this card, CAS using Stickles for the twinkle stars and ornaments for the xmas trees. This card will actually be made at my yearly holiday card marking party that I host for the ladies at work. I wanted to come up with simple cards that can be mass produced, cute and easy to make.

On another note - do pop on by to Wida's (Beacherado) post today - she was nice to feature my style on her Diagnosis Design post, what an honor! I am humbled by it all. Check it out HERE.

Take it easy,

peeps -

Another card this week, no it's not a xmas card, but rather a birthday card - real sweet and floral using Crate Paper (Random) paper collection. I was inspired by my previous card posted - the pocket as focal point for the card, and such beautiful paper. I have to tell you that these cards are super easy to make, I did use the Cameo to cut out the pocket out of vellum, but mainly minimal and easy to produce multiple times. I hope you like!

hello there -

I've made another christmas card, I've been on a kick lately for holiday cards, with all the beautiful holiday paper that's out these days, I seem to be creative lately. The card I made with Studio Calico's pocket card cut file. I luv that I was able to use my Cameo again for this card, I cut the pocket out of vellum. I also like the Crate Paper (Peppermint) paper for a few years back. LEt me know what you think! Are you making xmas cards this year?

Shiny Xmas Tree by CloudsShadler
Shiny Xmas Tree, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Hey there peeps -

A christmas card, already under way! Yes, i know - I'm bypassing Halloween already and diving right into christmas cards - I'm excited. This card I made with techniques I learned from the Cutting Edge SC class - I used more of that awesome Silhouette glitter and double adhesive, the cut file is from SC digital store (sorry - they no longer have for sale). I also used assorted gems from MME, Doodlebug etc. I hope you like the card, the picture really doesn't do it justice, it's a beautiful elegant card. Now - the hard part is giving it away.

SC Cutting Edge - tags

SC Cutting Edge - tags by CloudsShadler
SC Cutting Edge - tags, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.

Hello there peeps!

I'm excited to show you the tags I made with the cut files from the SC class - Cutting Edge. I've got lots of cut files from the class and tons of ideas so far on what mediums to use to embellish cards, layouts etc. I made two cute tags - the flower and stars are cut onto card stock, then I cut again using the double adhesive which I adhered to the cut card stock and then embellished with this awesome Silouette glitter! wow! The funny thing - i've had the glitter and double adhesive for ages, it came with the bundle when I bought my Cameo - suhweet! What do you think? I also made some cards that I'll be sharing soon on the blog, amazing stuff! Hopefully I've inspired you to make tags or use your Cameo :)

spooky - pocket halloween card

Hello peeps!

A Halloween card today - so spooky! This is a card I actually made for publication but it didn't get picked up. I used Jenni Bowlin - Vintage Halloween themed patterned paper, and used the Cameo for the pocket card (3 pc bat Halloween card #31588) cut file. I also used Martha Stewart Halloween stamps I picked up last year at my local Michael's store and can you spy washi tape? I do have a stash from the Studio Calico kits I've bought this year, I do try to incorporate them on my cards.. I really like the card, it was easy to make and a plus for using my Cameo. Do you like? Let me know :) Just a quick post today.

To You From Me. With Love

Hi there peeps -

Yes, I'm alive and no, I haven't been washed away by the Colorado floods. It's been some really crazy weather lately, I mean, I'll take snow any day before rain. Only because our pup Luna refuses to go outside in the rain, and then, all that puppy energy is too much! Ha!

K - the card, I know - I'm a little bit late with all the PTI stamps, but, I luv the card, and I like the bright girly colors. I will say this card took forever to make, given all the different ink pads I used, the die cutting and assembling, yeah! But, it's worth it, I luv the card. Do you? Let me know! I hope stay dry and enjoy your wkend!

I used PTI (In&Out: Birthday) stamp set, as well as paper from Studio Calico (Northstar) add-on kit. I really like the bright girly colors of this card, easy to assemble if you were to make in bulk. Hello there,

A birthday card today - I wanted to do a simple masculine birthday card using Studio Calico patterned paper I had stashed. I really like the sentiment because it's big enough to be the focal point of the card - it's from PTI (Inside & Out:Birthday II) stamp set. I also made another birthday card for a female, which I'll post later this week. I hope you are having a wonderful wend!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween by CloudsShadler
Happy Halloween, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Hello there peeps,

Long time no see! Yes, it's true, I did abandon my blogs for months. Well, I shall explain -
1. I accidentally broke the link to all my pics from Flicker, now I have to figure out how to link my past pics unto Blogger (any ideas?  Though you can see all of them from the Flickr badge to the middle right of this page) 2. I work and work, and work. Not proud of working soo much but I have to. 3. Lack of inspiration, I've been on a craft block for a while now, it comes and goes and it decided to stay for too long this time.

I decided to try to craft as much as I can again, I have even enrolled into some classes that I hope can bring my creative juices back to speed. I enrolled in Susan Weinroth's "Cutting Edge" class. I missed the class the first time it was offered, and since I have a Cameo I rarely use, I figured it would be a good chance to learn how to use the cutter and make it work. Wanna join me? See here for deets. (note* - I am NOT being paid to advertise this class, it was just a suggestion)

K, the card - I asked myself, what are the craft ladies up to these days ... where do they go for inspiration, ideas and where do they "socialize" in the blogging world? I search and wound up in a couple places (do let me know if I forgot to mention any hot spots out there) 1. CAS-ual Fridays blog 2. Case Study blog challenge and 3. Studio Calico blog (because they just have to do everything). I decided to challenge myself and make a CAS card and use text on Kraft card stock (CFC113), because that's what Michelle said. So? did I succeed? I used Kelly Purkey (Halloween) stamp set and tiny gems to dress up the card, you like? Halloween is just around the corner, Archivers reminded me the first minute I walked into their store and bam - everything Halloween themed. crazy.

Well, I need your feedback, feel free to leave a comment and welcome me back into the bloggin world, I admit, I need reassurance some times that someone out there is randomly stumbling into my blog (once a year is fine)

Clouds :)

SC - May'13 (North Star) kit - mother's day card

hello there peeps,

A happy Mom's day to all the mommy's out there. A sweet card for today - all exclusive Studio Calico (North Star) add-on kit. I loved the ribbon so much I made a cute dainty flower to go along with the sweet sentiment, perfect for a mother's day card. I guess this card is super creative because I also made the tag myself. I hope you like!

Thank You! card by CloudsShadler
Thank You! card, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Hello there peeps,

Long time no see! I've made a card for ya - it's a rather masculine card ... I've used all supplies exclusively from Studio Calico's - Spencer Card kit I just got. I received a coupon code for having published a layout using another previous kit. I really like the paper and embellishments, very colorful and masculine. Do you like? If you really notice, I accidentally adhered the arrow patterned paper wrong, the arrows are supposed to point the other direction, oh well - carry on!

Have a good wkend, the weather in CO is rather strange - anywhere from snow, rain, wind, to sunny.

The hubby and I are thinking about what veggies and herbs we want to plant this yr - beets are a fave in my book, how about you?

hello darling card

hello darling card, a photo by CloudsShadler on Flickr.
Hey there peeps,

A card here using the new CP Maggie Holmes 6X6 paper pad - really beautiful and colorful collection, I just had to have it so I ordered it online. I wanted the card to be simple and layered. Again, the accordion flower made with my Martha Stewart score board, lovely. I am also trying to use all the washi tape I've managed to accumulate ( err hoard), mind you I'm not a big fan of washi tape but kept piling up with the kits I purchased.

We've got some really talented and fun ladies in Colorado - every once in a while we'll plan on meeting up @ the local Archivers store and catch up on all the happenings - this time I had the pleasure to meet Lisa Petrella (Bellalistona), Vivian Masket (Right Side Up) - newbies and of course plain fun Wida Miller (Beachorado), Alyssa Scritchfield (ACS Paper Creations); Tenia Nelson (Jazzy Paper Designs). My friend Shannon (from college) also joined - so it was a nice group to peek and see what they're up to in crafts and get to know them more. So much fun.

Anyhoot, I hope you like!

Hi there peeps,

I've got a brand new card here for ya! I made an impromptu visit to Archivers and stumbled upon new AC - Dear Lizzy (Lucky Charm) collection, cute stuff! And I aimed right for the 6X6 paper pad! Look what I made - I absolutely love the colors in this collection, and the matching label stickers are adorable too! It really is a simple card, but the colors just make it more better, don't you think? I also used my Cameo flower, it just made the card! I hope you have a good wkend! Let me know what you think :)

Hey there crafty peeps,

a card here today - I bought this 3D flower file to use on my Cameo - I was tinkering with it last night and the flower came out so cute! I decided not to let it go to waste and made a "friend" card. Very girly-ish, don't you think? I used Crate Paper's (Pretty Party) paper collection, luv how it came out! For those of you here in the US - the SuperBowl is in order - who are you cheering for? :) Anyhoot - I hope you like the card too!

Love You - JBS Mini Album Kit Jan '13

hello there peeps,

Remember I mentioned the next twin to this mini album? Actually - I had made this one first, and I basically figured if anything - it would rather serve as a notebook - I cut the SC Honeycomb album in two - yielded two 4X4 mini albums. Yes - these are all part of the Jenni Bowlin (Jan '13) Album Kit (which is sold out unfortunately). The album is almost exclusively using the kit. I've been asked numerous times "Do you think it's worth buying the kit?" - well it really all depends on what you think is "worth" the $$$. The one reason I buy kits (take it from someone who gradually warmed up to them) is that I really don't have to think about pairing paper & embellishments together, for the most part - all kits do this. I am comfortable with that because I found myself buying a gazillion items @ my local scrapbook store and realized nothing matched, most of which I never really used. Kits, for me, offer cohesion and set paper & embellish that I can work with. And if you are not tired of me saying it - I'll try to use as much of it as I can, it's just a matter of principle for me - use it as much as possible :) Oh yes - inside of album is in progress!

Take care,
C :)

Hello there peeps,

The other mini is in progress as well.

This wkend I got to join a nice group of crafty friends (are you on Facebook? :) and it was very nice to meet all of them, seriously - I need to do more crops more often! Lots of laugh and creative fun! The ribbon was a nice gift from one of the ladies! Anyhoot - I hope you like the mini.

Happy Valentine's Day mini card # 3

Hey there peeps,

The last of the trio Valentine's Day mini cards I made. I used Pink Paislee (Secret Crush) 6X6 paper pad and a very cute and dainty heart doily svg file I bought @ the Silhouette store online. Now, yes, there is a lot of pink on this card and lots of bright colors, which is why it's tiny, ha! (not to be given out to a guy ;) I think I'm planning on giving these out @ work - to my gal pals/co-workers. I have a mini album I'm working that I'll be sharing soon but do let me know if you like!

Valentine's Day card mini #2

Hey there peeps,

The creative thoughts are flowing this wk - another Valentine's day card this wkend!
