Valentine Postcard

Hello peeps,

Today I'm sharing a card I made a couple weeks ago. I made this card primarily with the Jan'15 add-on kit from Gossamer Blue (click HERE). When I made this card I had a postcard in mind and the accessories where just right for the theme of the card. There's a lot packed on this card, the accessories, the layering of the patterned paper, bright red color and gold highlights with pink and also dimension.

In person, the card is really stunning. So, I wanted to expand on my comment a couple posts ago as to why I enjoy making Valentine's Day cards. There's a couple reasons to that. Mainly, there's a renewed sense of creativity at the beginning of the year and with my resolution to make cards, Valentine's day is always the perfect opportunity to be creative. There is also the bright red and pink combo that I like. Lastly, my parents got married on Valentine's day (I know, kind of cheesy but it's true!) and my anniversary is right around the same time too (a couple days after Valentine's day). So, lots of reason to be excited about said day and while some people steer away from this event, I embrace it.

Do you do celebrate Valentine's day? If so, what do you do? Leave me a note if you'd like to share.

Take care,
C :)

"Our Love" Card

Hello Peeps -

I hope your week went well. This is a three day weekend for me and I'm excited to get more time to craft. The card I'm sharing today took forever to make. I struggled with how much accessories to add to the card because I really just liked the patterned paper as it was. I am still using Crate Paper (Kiss Kiss) collection. I also made a rosette for this card (in case you have ever wondered, the rosette measures 2 inches in diameter).

If you ever managed to look at the last couple of cards I made last year, you'll notice the pictures didn't turn out nicely. I think I have managed to work around no longer having Flickr and have relied on my iPhone to snap pictures of my card. Please let me know if the pictures are turning out okay, I think they are much better now.

Well, this is a quick post today. The hubby and me are walking our pup Luna while there is a nice sun out and enjoy a stroll around our new neighborhood. I hope you get to enjoy your weekend as well!

card supplies:
Paper: Crate Paper (Kiss Kiss) collection & coordinating ephemera pack; PTI (rustic white) card stock
Tools: Martha Stewart (heart punch, scoreboard); Stapler

Claudia :)

Happy Valentine's Day card

Hello peeps -

I have this gorgeous Valentine's Day card to share with you that I made over the weekend using Crate Paper (Kiss Kiss) collection. I made a tiny rosette to go with the focal point of the card for dimension. I am really digging the gold pieces on this card that really pop and shine. The overall take on the card is subtle pastel colors with gold highlights, just the way I envisioned the card would turn out to be.

Over the weekend I really took the chance to make lots of cards and I must say it was a success. I've made enough cards for the month and I am super excited to share them with you over the next couple of weeks. So, if you do follow my blog, please do stop by occasionally for these new upcoming posts. I hope you will be satisfied and even inspired to make your own. I would also like to thank the ladies that left comments on my last post. Know that I do appreciate every single one of them and the encouragement to keep blogging and creating :)

I hope you have a good week and I'll see you around!

XOXO card

Well hello there crafty peeps! I'm back from the busy world and into crafty world. It really does feel nice to know that I still have a creative side stored in my brain. For as long as I've been absent from the blog world, the card I made really deserved to be (in my mind) beautiful! I am really proud of this card because I really wanted to craft and because Valentine's day cards are one of my favorite to make. I bought this awesome kit from Gossamer Blue (add-on kit - see link HERE) and loved the assortment of paper and accessories. This is my first kit from GB and my first kit of the year. The paper is mostly by Crate Paper (Kiss Kiss collection) and note that I did buy the epherema pack that corresponds with the kit separately. I really hope you like the card too and I'd like to here if you do. I've noted the entire list of supplies below for you.

Well, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I am really looking forward to 2015. One of my goals this year is to devote more time to crafting and blogging. I hope I follow through. How about you? What are your goals for this year? Are you into a "new year's resolution"?

Kit: Gossamer Blue (Jan'15 add-on) - patterned paper
Accessories: Crate Paper (Kiss Kiss) ephemera pack; Martha Stewart (heart) punch; Glitter card stock (from Michaels); Stapler; Pop Dots adhesive

Take care,
Claudia :)
