Flora&Fauna - Gossamer Blue - Sept '15 Guest Spot

Hello Peeps,

I'm here today to share with you a project series I made for my Gossamer Blue Sept'15 guest post. I was thrilled at the idea of being asked to guest post for a kit company (I'll admit it's been a while since I've been asked.) I immediately accepted and started thinking of what I would do with the kits and craft goodies. While I didn't know exactly what the theme of the kits would be, I started thinking of layouts and cut files (via Silhouette) that I could possibly incorporate on my cards. I gravitated towards nature and decided that my card series would be animals and plants and so "Flora & Fauna" was born ;)

The first card features feathers. I incorporated several of the kits for this month into my cards. For this card I used a variety of patterned paper and accessories. I do enjoy the splash of color and sequins to add dimension.

This next card features butterflies. I found this beautiful butterfly border cut file and immediately knew I would enjoy making this card. To add dimension, I adhered the butterflies using foam adhesive. Because the patterned paper incorporated many different fun colors, I simply added  gold sequins and enamel dots to the body of the butterflies.

Next up is a card featuring my favorite animal - elephants. I really wanted to capture a fun image of an elephant as the focal point of my card. I dressed up the saddle with some beautiful flower stickers included in the Gossamer Blue kits. I could not be more happy with the way this card turned out. Well, I'll let the card speak for itself :)

Next is a flower card featuring a jumbo image of a simple flower. I do love the pop of red. For the background of this card I used some of the Project Life (PL) kit cards. This is another fun way to use the PL kits unto cards.

The last card I made showcases a series of leaves to capture the Fall season. While the colors are not your typical fall-ish colors, I did enjoy using a geometric pattern to cut the leaves. For dimension, I used foam adhesive on some of the leaves.

I hope you have enjoyed browsing through my cards today. If you stumbled on my blog by way of Gossamer Blue - thanks for stopping by. Do you have a favorite card? I'd like to hear from you! All cards were made using supplies from the Gossamer Blue Sept'15 kits. Below is a link to the Gossamer Blue shop. I truly enjoyed making these cards and the kits are full of fun paper and accessories for you to start making your own craft projects! Also, my projects are also being featured on the Gossamer Blue blog so don't forget to stop by the GB blog as well.
